Yesterday, a special group of visitors arrived at our factory — 6 Korean clients + 1 interpreter. They came straight from the airport in the afternoon, for one purpose only:

Before shipment, they wanted to see the tanks with their own eyes.

How Thorough Is a Korean Factory Inspection?

The Korean team walked straight into the workshop — no small talk, no sightseeing.

They weren't here for a casual tour. They came with a thick Data Sheet and went through every single item against the actual product. The on-site discussion was extremely detailed — dimensions, wall thickness, welds, sealing, bolted assembly — nothing was left undiscussed:

✅ Tank dimensions — Tape measures in hand, measuring diameter and height against the drawings, millimeter by millimeter.

✅ Wall thickness — Ultrasonic thickness gauge used for random spot checks, confirming every steel plate meets specification.

✅ Weld quality — Welds were a key focus. Every weld's appearance, profile, and absence of porosity were carefully inspected.

✅ Sealing performance — Witnessed the entire sealing test process on-site. Confirmed: no leaks.

✅ Bolted assembly — Bolt connection precision, flange surface flatness, and coating uniformity — not a single detail was skipped.

Having made tanks for years, we've seen all kinds of inspections. But the Korean team's approach of "cross-checking every item, letting the data speak" was genuinely impressive. They weren't looking for "good enough" — they wanted "every single item to match."

Why Bolted Tanks?

The Korean client ordered Schumann's bolted anaerobic digester tanks.

In Korea's environmental engineering market, equipment standards are notoriously strict. They chose Schumann for three reasons:

First, German engineering. Every tank comes with its own dedicated 3D design drawing — no templates, but custom-designed based on the project's specific process parameters. Across the 100~15,000m³ capacity range, every single tank is a one-to-one design.

Second, bolted assembly technology. Factory prefabrication, on-site assembly — lower shipping costs, shorter installation cycles. For international projects, that means higher efficiency and more controllable costs.

Third, corrosion protection lifespan. Carbon steel tanks with epoxy coating, designed for a 20-year service life. The Korean team conducted on-site抽检 for coating thickness and adhesion — all passed.

Inspection Result: Satisfied

After a full day of on-site verification, the Korean team expressed their approval of Schumann's product quality, manufacturing processes, and inspection procedures.

Before they left, they said one sentence — conveyed to us through the interpreter:

"It matches the drawings exactly. You can ship with confidence."

That sentence carries more weight than any advertisement.

Final Thoughts

Three parties — owner, general contractor, and subcontractor — all from different companies but working on the same project, came together at Schumann to jointly verify tank quality. This is rare in Korea's environmental engineering sector. When the owner, GC, and subcontractor all fly over together for a factory inspection, it shows just how seriously they take this project.

We make tanks. No gimmicks. Every weld can withstand scrutiny, every data point can be verified, every tank can stand the test of time.

This Korean team's on-site inspection is a snapshot of Schumann's journey into global markets. In the future, more international clients will walk into Schumann's workshop and witness the birth of every tank firsthand.

— We make tanks. We make them right.
